M1805 Give One Day Eye Care Program

The "Give One Day" Eye Care program was implemented by the Department of Family Services (DFS) in October, 1986. This program is a cooperative effort between the Wyoming Optometric Association (WOA) and DFS to provide eye care services to low Income individuals in need.

The applicant must be employed, has not had an eye examination in the last two years, and authorized for Food Stamps, or identified by DFS, WDH or the Optometric Association as truly in need.

The client will receive this service one-time only and it must be provided by the optometrist designated by DFS. The services do not include contact lenses, photo gray or tinted lenses, or prescription sunglasses. The optometrist will select the frames and there will be no option to upgrade.

Refer to the DFS Combined Manual for more information on this program.
