M601 Determining Basic Eligibility - Residence

Purpose: This section will assist in determining whether an individual is eligible for benefits in Wyoming based on residence.

POL M601: DETERMINING BASIC ELIGIBILITY - RESIDENCE

1. Applicants Must Be Wyoming Residents

Applicants must be living in the State of Wyoming voluntarily and with the intention of establishing a permanent residence in the state.

2. Applicants Moving From Another State Have 45-Day Application Period

Applicant must reside in WY within the 45-day application period.

3. Applicants Without Permanent Address May Be Eligible for Services

Applicants who do not have a permanent home address or permanent dwelling may receive benefits. A general Wyoming address may be used.

4. Clients May Receive Benefits From Another State In Initial Month

Applicants may receive benefits from Wyoming and another state in the initial month of eligibility. This may occur when a client is moving from another state to Wyoming.

5. Clients May Continue Receiving Benefits if Residency is Interrupted

Clients may continue to receive services if the eligibile person meets the criteria of temporary absence. Refer to Section M605 to determine if temporary absence criteria are met.
